A Note About Geography

Red Wing data reflects areas within the city boundary only and not locations like Welch, Wacouta, and Hay Creek Township (which includes South Oaks and other neighborhoods). In some cases only data for Goodhue County is available.

U.S. Census - American Community Survey

The American Community Survey is administered by the U.S. Census Bureau. The Census recommends using 5-year estimates in smaller communities like Red Wing to ensure the most accurate data. On the graphs and charts, the labels signify the last year of each 5-year estimate. For example, the label 2022 refers to data collected in 2018-2022. This is the most recent 5-year data available. New data will be released in December 2024 for the statistics collected in 2019-2023.
